So, this week is more of the same from last week...
Sleep Training is still running our household.
I try to be a good big sister. I lay outside of Emmie's room to make sure she is ok.
Sissy is still doing her morning exercises.
She is rolling a lot now! It took her forever to start rolling, but now that she has, she is a rolling machine!
She normally does her exercises on the blanket that Great Grandma Grace made her. But, lately it is hard to keep her on it. She just keeps rolling and rolls right off!
Ok, so, you might not be able to tell what this is.
My rolling sister rolled right off of her Nap Nanny seat (where the blue, green, and white blanket is) and into her toy bin! Doesn't sound like that big of a deal, right? Except that both of these items are on top of the ottoman in the front room, and she LAUNCHED herself off of the Nap Nanny. Needless to say, Mama has to keep a super close eye on her now.
This is Sissy on the Nap Nanny after the toy bin incident. Notice that she gets strapped in now. Also notice how unhappy she is about it.
The straps don't stop her from trying!
Sissy is trying to launch off of the Nap Nanny again with her right leg!
Good thing she is strapped in!
Like I told you last week, Mama and Sissy joined a playgroup.
It was practically raining, but they all decided to go to the park.
It was practically raining, but they all decided to go to the park.
This is one of Emmie's friends, Brennen.
He is 8 months old...so he has a lot to teach Sissy.
LIKE SWINGING!
The seats are big, so at first Mama stuffed it with the blanket Ms. Ladeana got her to make sure she didn't fall out.
It seemed to work well enough.
But, then Brennen came over and said, "What is your Mama doing?! My mama lets me go in the swing by myself, and I am smaller than you."
So, my sister, being super embarrassed, asked Mama to take the blanket out. She didn't want to look like a baby in front of her new friends!
Daddy says, that even though Sissy is big, she looks SO very little in the swing.
But, Sissy watched Brennen.
And held on super tight!
(Look at her fingertips. She is holding so tight they are white!)
AND OFF SHE WENT!
So far so good!
She got the hang of it pretty quickly!
Brennen said, "SEE?! I told you, this is tons of fun!"
So much fun in fact, Sissy told Mama she wanted to go to a different park the next day!
(Strangely, it was like 80 degrees and not even close to rain like the day before.)
Again, she held on super tight!
AND AWAY SHE WENT!
Somethng about the park puts my sister deep in concentration.
She rode the rhino at the park, but she didn't rock back and forth. She is still too little, she would've fallen out.
Again, deep in concentration.
Maybe she is thinking about...
GOING TO THE ZOO!
Just the small Orange County Zoo down the street, but it was still fun.
It was the first time she sat facing out in her stroller!
Mama says that she is a big girl now. (sniff sniff)
Ok, so they weren't even out of the car yet, and they saw animals!
The car was surrounded by peacocks and ducks!
Mama has a weird fear of birds and didn't want to get out. But, the other Moms of the playgroup started to show up, and she was embarrassed and felt silly and came out.
Mama also dislikes, goats, bears, bobcats, big birds like eagles and vultures and especially...
GIANT LIZARDS!
But she sucked it up so Sissy could see them all!
This is one of my sister's friends, Connor. He is 8 months old.
They decided to play "Simon Says"
Simon Says, "Hold your Sophie girraffe upside down"
"Now eat her legs!"
Oh no! They both lose.
Sissy and Mama went to the pool. This is her new swimsuit.
The pool wasn't heated, so they didn't stay long.
Grandpa and Grandma just sent her a new swimsuit, so stay tuned for more pictures! Maybe she can star in her own Baby Illustrated Swimsuit Magazine.
Today, the family went to watch Big Cousin Garrison at his soccer clinic.
Here he is stretching out.
Sissy was bored because she was stuck in the stroller. But, Mama made her a bungee clips to make sure she didn't lose her toys at the soccer field. They seemed to work!
This week was Cousin Beckett's 2nd birthday!
Daddy got him a trampoline to get his energy out. So, after soccer we went to the cousins' house to put it together. He seemed to have a lot of fun!
Daddy has been out of town a lot for work. Sissy loves him so much. She has lots of smiles when he comes home! Today, she just cuddled with him. She didn't nap well, and decided to just rest on his shoulder.
The cousins gave me one of their crib mattresses!
Until Daddy finds a place for another bed (because I have one in every room of the house) my bed in Sissy and my room gets doubled up. I feel like the princess and the pea! It is super high! I can see out the window really easily! I love it!
I will see you next week!
Awww.....I'm so happy and yet very jealous of how great the weather is over there. Also, Emmie has the longest eyelashes I have ever seen! :-) She's absolutely beautiful. :-)
