Making up for lost time....

So, it has been awhile since I have reported back to you.  So, there is a lot to go over.  Bare with me, this post might seem disjointed with random comments and pictures.  My memory isn't the best.
Grandpa and Grandma sent us a Valentine's Day box, and I got this cool new toy!

Sissy got lots of toys!  She got some clothes too!

But, by far her favorite is her giraffe!

But she loves them all.

I love my toy, don't come near it...it's mine, I am not sharing!  My sister doesn't share with me, so neither will I!

Mama and Sissy go on walks with our new(er) neighbor, Mrs. Chelsea and Miss. Avery.  They went up the hill by our house and this was their view!

Auntie Tia (Ericka) and Mama went on a food adventure that didn't exactly work out.  They ended up going to Slater's 50/50.  They dragged Sissy out in the rain for fried artichoke hearts and burgers that are made up of half beef half bacon!

Sissy had to go to the doctor's office at 5 months.  They wanted to make sure she was rolling over.  Low and behold, she rolled over the day before her appointment!  Just in time!

She weighed in at 19 lbs 6 ozs

And played with toys that were probably filled with sick kid germs.  But that is ok, because she looked cute doing it.  Daddy got her this dress on one of his work trips.
It is by Roxy.
So, it all comes full circle!  Mama's first design job was with Roxy Baby (back then it was called Roxy Teenie Wahine) and now her baby is wearing Roxy!

The next week, as you know from last week's post, Sissy got sick.
This is a picture of a baby with a 103 temperature and diarrhea.

Auntie Tia (Ericka) thinks it is funny when Sissy watches her favorite show, "Wow Wow Wubsy".  She becomes a zombie and nothing can break her gaze during the theme song.  The rest of the cartoon she can care less about.  But the theme song is hypnotizing!

Sissy is all about her feet lately.  When she has a disposable (or no) diaper on she sticks them in her mouth.  I get in trouble with I eat (bite and itch) my feet, but when my sister does it, my parents think it is cute.  It is so unfair.

This is my sister with a swim diaper on!

Yep folks!  That is right!  She finally went to her first trip to the pool!

Our neighbor, Miss. Avery went too!  (She is 3 months old)

This was her first dip..no smiles, no cries.  She has quite a poker face when it comes to whether she enjoyed it or not.

The cousins gave Emmie their floaty thing.

She seemed to like it.  She lounged in it while Daddy and Mama dragged her around the pool.

They let her out too!  She was a really good kicker!  She kicks like a mermaid or dolphin with her legs together.

Daddy picked her up to the sky, and would dip her back in, it made her giggle!

This is Sissy practicing her swan dive.

She stayed in so long and had so much fun, her feet were all pruney and wrinkled.

Miss. Avery sunbathed the whole time!

It was cold when she got out of the pool, but Mama was prepared with her cover up.
I don't see the big deal.
The pool is just a big bath, and I hate baths.

After the pool, Sissy got a real bath.  And then she fell asleep immediately.  Daddy didn't even have a change to put her down!

Miss. Avery had this jumper at her house, and Sissy really liked it, so Daddy bought her one.  She loves jumping!  She has "hops" just like my Daddy!

Even I played and got in on the fun.

Sissy finally graduated to her big girl seat on her stroller.  I am not sure what took so long, but she seems to like it ok.  So, they went to the swap meet to buy some produce.

Daddy didn't like the food there, so they went to Benji's deli after to get some pastrami sandwiches and black and white cookies!  Sissy was very well behaved.

While they were gone, I kept myself busy, destroying toys!

What?  It's ok, they are mine, not my sister's.

Every time Daddy goes away on a work trip, he comes home with some new clothes for my sister.  He got her this big ole' jacket for Mama's night walks.  It's kind of big, but it does the job.

Mama and Sissy joined a playgroup.

She met lots of new friends.  A lot of them were her age, or a month or two older.

This is Kei, he is Japanese too, and he was born a day before my sister!

At the play group, they gave her this cool mask.

She looks just like me!  Now we really look like sisters!

Daddy, Mama, and Auntie Tia went on another food adventure.  They went to an Argentinian food truck.  Boy as it yummy!  But it was cold, so Sissy had to bundle up and wear the jacket and beanie that Daddy got her, while being strapped to Mama's belly.

She was knocked out on the way home!

Speaking of new beanies...Miss. Avery gave her this one!

Sleep has been the theme in our house.
Where (I'm in the big bed here), When (all the time for me) and for how long.  And for Sissy, it is also (and mostly) how she goes to sleep.

This was night one of sleep training.  She cried A LOT. (she is still in her pack n play here)

And this is a picture of a baby who wouldn't nap the next day.  Days are harder than the nights.  Sissy had never been a good napper, but now, it seems to be a battle of wills.  Sissy vs Mama.  Looks like Sissy is winning so far.

I don't know what the big deal is...sleep is good.  The sooner Sissy learns that the better.  It is cold at night though, I have to curl up really tight to stay warm.

This was my sister's first night in her crib.  It was night two of sleep training.

See that puddle of drool?
My sister is what my Mama calls a "mouth breather".

The next morning, for some reason she couldn't take a non crazy eyed picture.  But, you can see her pink cheek from where she laid all night.

Then, from there, she had to go to the doctor's...again.
Here she is at the hospital she was born in, waiting to get a picture (ultrasound) of her tummy.  She throws up a lot, and they just wanted to make sure she is ok.

She was pretty good.  She just played and didn't bother anyone in the waiting room.

She did well during the pictures too!  Even after they made her drink a bunch of stuff.
Just so you know, Daddy got the results of her tests, and everything is fine.

Later that day...another doctor's visit.
Why you ask?
This one was unexpected.
Mama was on a walk, and Sissy was strapped to her belly, and five feet from our front door, Mama tripped.  She fell forward, and did her best to break her fall, but Sissy still hit her head on the concrete.

Does this look like the picture of an injured kid?
She got a clean bill of health.
And after the adrenaline wore off, Mama realized that she rolled both her ankles and smashed up her left knee.  So, no walks for them for a few days.
All is all, everyone is ok.

I don't go for walks, or swimming.  I stay safe in the comfort of my own home.  No need to take any chances!

Today, Sissy and Mama went to the fruit stand for the local farm.  Mama wanted to buy everything!
Since my sister was wearing blue (another outfit from one of Dad's work trips) the lady behind the counter kept calling her a boy.  But, Mama doesn't care.  She thinks the jumper is cute, it has an octopus with sunglasses on it!

Then, they went to go see the cousins really quick.
Mama was hoping they would tire Sissy out so she would take a nap.
Cousin Garrison was busy being a big kid, he has no time for babies.  But Cousin Beckett and Emmie are thick as thieves!

Here, he is "teaching" her to read.

He's a good reader!  And he kept Sissy focused the whole time!

Next was their writing lesson...

Sissy kept a hold of him, making sure he stayed close.

He's really patient with her.  Even when she grabs him to give him a big ole' kiss!

Even though they are a bit overwhelming at times, they are super nice and I think they will grow up to be great friends.  Garrison even let my sister play with his penguin toy while he showed her his Buzz Lightyear.

So, I am sure this weekend will be more of the same.  Sleep training will run this house.  This is me, telling my mom to go upstairs to stop the crying.  I come downstairs, bark at her, then go back up halfway, and wait for her.  But, with this sleep training stuff, Mama doesn't go get her when she cries.  It kills her, and I see her pacing back and forth, but Daddy and I reassure her that it will be good in the long run.

I'll just relax and let them do all the work.

See you next week!
