HAPPY NEW YEAR!

THE FUTURE'S SO BRIGHT....
SHE'S GOTTA WEAR SHADES!
Carseat: Peg Perego
Bib: Tommee Tippee
Sunglasses: Tom Ford

No one can say that my sister doesn't ride in style!

But looking back on this week, here is a list of what we did.
(In no particular order...)

Daddy and Sissy went for walks during the day,

Daddy and Sissy went for walks at night,
(don't mind the spit up on Daddy's sweatshirt)

We hung out with Great Grandma Grace (and cousins),

Sissy watched football and ate empanadas with Grandpa,

Played dinosaurs with cousin Beckett,

Sissy bugged me for no reason but to be an annoying little sister,

Sissy played with teething toys from Grandpa and Grandma, even though she isn't teething yet,

I played with MY toys (since Sissy doesn't share),

Sissy walked with Grandpa,

and Grandma came to save her and scooped her up.

The family (minus me) went to a park for family photos,

Sissy helped Jichan with his New Year's party,

Sissy played dress up (reindeer hat provided by Auntie Kris),

Sissy played with more toys,

She took a nap by HERSELF,

AND FINALLY, she took a nap with Mama and me.
That's about it for the week's activities.  They were all pretty low key, which is how Mama and Daddy like it.

There were a couple of things that didn't get documented with the camera.  Sissy visited with Auntie Miyo today.  And last Tuesday, Tia Ericka, Tia Gaby, Papa Jorge and Terry (Ericka and Gaby's Mama) took care of Sissy for the night.  They said she did really well, but Mama doesn't know if they just said that so she wouldn't worry for next time.

As for me, I am ending 2011 pretty much the same way I started it.

Sleeping.

Have a happy and safe new year's!  See you in 2012!

Merry Christmas Eve!

From the holiday elf baby!

We love this outfit, it's super soft and had cute little ruffles all over it.

And Sissy seems to like it and not mind being dressed up.

There have been several Christmas outfits that Grandma and Grandpa sent my sister.  This one even has special striped Babylegs, and a matching headband and socks!

Mama thinks the headband is too big and makes Sissy look like she is a 20's flapper, or she has a swim cap on.  Sissy doesn't like it, but she tolerated it for pictures and a trip to the cousins' house.  The family all went there for dinner and presents!

But first, I will tell you about this exhausting week.  It was hard to get a nap in, but I seemed to manage from time to time.

Even Sissy was tired from this week.
(Again, a special Christmas outfit with Santa Babylegs!)

Sissy started jumping in the hallway.  I can't say if she liked it or not.  But she didn't cry, so that is a good sign.

Her feet don't touch the ground yet, so she can't lift and jump on her own, but Mama gives her help going up and down, and even swings her back and forth like a swing at the park.

She seems interested enough to try it again next week.

Daddy also taught Sissy to grab and shake her rattle all by herself.  He says, "Shake, shake, shake..." and she does it!  It seems to make her happy when she is upset.

And of course, she is still stuffing her hands in her mouth, which means she is still drooling a lot!

This is Grandma and Grandpa trying to keep Sissy from crying.  She cried a lot today.  I think it was just a lot for her to take in.  Seeing Grandma and Grandpa, going to the cousins' for dinner, opening presents, watching Christmas movies...it is enough to over stimulate anyone!

The cousins got lots of lots of toys!
This is Cousin Beckett with a Backyardigans book!

Cousin Garrison got a guitar!

(I'm not sure why this picture is sideways...)
and Emmie got LOTS of clothes and toys.  Here she is grabbing her dolly!
Grandpa and Grandma made sure that everyone had lots to open!  Everyone was super happy and grateful!

Even I got toys!
Thanks!
I am sure a lot more will happen this week!  So, I will keep you updated!

3 months...and 3 days

So, my sister is officially 3 months old now.
Not much has changed,
except she is unofficially 16.6 lbs.

Oh, and the weather is getting colder.  We have had some wind and rain.  My sissy either has to wear Babylegs with all of her dresses or bundle up, like she is here in the pea coat that Grandma and Grandpa got her.

Sissy also likes to sleep on her side now.
This is her while Mama is spying on her through the monitor.

I don't know how it happened, but Sissy has been using me as a pillow lately.  I don't know why I put up with it.  I guess she is my sister, so I am supposed to cuddle with her.

Because it is the holiday season, Sissy has been getting packages in the mail.

This Santa hat is from Auntie Miyo.  It came with a bib, but as you can see, it is a bit too small, and the bib would've strangled her.  Again, she is 16.6 lbs, that isn't small.

This is the hat that Grandma sent her.
This one came with elastic, so it fits a bit better.

It came with pajamas.
There are other hats too, but I will leave them for future posts.
Doesn't she look like a sweet Christmas baby?  She isn't.  She started crying soon after this picture was taken.

This is my Uncle Michael and Auntie Dee with me and my cousin Mia.
We celebrated Hanukkah early this weekend.  We ate latkes, lit candles and got presents!

Please excuse my sister's hiked up dress.
But, the cousins were standing up next to each other and talking.  When they are being held, they look the same size, but standing Sissy looks taller.

At Auntie Laurie and Uncle Andy's house, there are no rules.
When all the puppies came to the house, we got to run all over the place!
And now that the babies go, they get to do the same!  Here is my sister, sitting on the mantle!!!  Next year they will probably be dancing on the tables!

Here's a close up with Sissy and the Hanukkah moose!  You can put candles in his antlers!
Sissy told me Hanukkah was fun.  I am jealous.

Tonight, Sissy got to meet Mama's friend, Ms. Chastity.
You can't tell, because Sissy is covering her, but Ms. Chastity is making Sissy a boyfriend!  He will be born in February!

Other than that, this week has been kind of slow.  We have just been hanging out with our friends.

Oh, and as for me...
Mama broke down and made me wear a cone.
I have been chewing on my feet a lot.
She actually should make me wear the cone more than I do, but don't tell her that.  She is threatening to put socks on me too....but so far, it is just the cone every now and then when Daddy isn't home to help watch me.  At least it is a soft cone, not a hard plastic one like you get at the vet.

Well, I hope your week has been better than mine.
Hopefully, I will have news of the cone going into the trash next time I write!
