Another day, another doctor's visit...

So, it has nothing to do with my surgeries, but I was back at the doggie emergency room.  Daddy came home from work, and noticed that my tongue and chops were thicker than normal.  I didn't have a super puffy face, but was enough to go to the vet to make sure my tongue didn't swell up and block my throat.  The doctor pumped me full of steroids and meds, and kept me for observation.  NOT MY FAVORITE PLACE TO BE.  I do not have good memories of this place.  In the past, I have come out either full of stitches or forced to walk miles underwater.  Needless to say, HOURS later, I was good enough to go home.  Thank goodness.

This is my daddy taking my bandages off.  (If you look closely, my hair is growing back on my surgery leg)  He is my official at home doctor.  Normally, it's my mama, but she isn't allowed to give me my medicine.  I don't know how it works, but my medicine is supposed to make me all better, but it can hurt my sister if my mama touches it.

I'm drugged and tired.  But, I am getting better, which is all that matters.
This weekend is more of my parents getting ready for my sister.  Maybe I will just rest here in my crate and let them do all the work while I recover for a few (5 to be exact) days.  I hope you are all well, and staying out of the doctor's office!

ANNOUNCING THE NEW BABY!

HA HA HA!  I TRICKED YOU!
It's not what you think.
Yes, we have a new addition to our family, but no, my little sister isn't here yet.
I am pleased to announce my new little cousin!

Mia Ashley Tallman
7 lbs 2ozs
August 15th, 2011
She is my Uncle Michael and Auntie Ann's new daughter and my cousin Lola's (their pup) little sister.  She came exactly one week late.  My mama and daddy went to go see them, and I think my mama is a little nervous now.  She told me that Mia looks too big to fit in her belly, let alone come out of it!  So, now she is scared that my sister will be even bigger!

Why is she so fearful you ask?
Because Mama and Daddy went to the doctor, and found out that at 35 weeks, my sister is 6 lbs 11 ozs.  Apparently, babies grow a half pound every week.  With 5 weeks left, that would make my sister over 9 lbs!

My mama is very uncomfortable and ready for my sister to be here.  At the same time, both my mama and daddy want her to stay in the belly because there is still a lot to do.

What do I think?!  Hmmmm, good question...

I am living the good life as the only child.  Mama let's me hang out on the porch, takes naps with me, and she gives me carrots!  I love and cuddle with my daddy a lot (I've been really clingy with him the past couple of weeks) and he gives me lots of treats and love.  So, I am happy living the "Suki life" and I am not ready for that to change.  I hope my sister stays in there.

This is me at the Dr's.  (Sorry for the scary eyes) I had to get my 4 week Xrays and my first rehab appointment.  The doctor said that I am healing "too well" because I think I can do WAAAAY more than I actually can...or should.  My rehab was an hour and a half of stretching and water treadmill.  They wouldn't let my mama stay, they thought I would be too distracted to work hard.  And even with my water phobia, they said I did well.

Boy do I love car rides, but especially this one, because I was ready to go home!!!  No more Bulldog Bootcamp for me!

I came home and was knocked out!  Later that night, my mama told my daddy I HAD to get a bath because I smelt like recycled old water from the water treadmill.  I was sore, and limpy.  It took me a good two days to recover.  My doctor said it was normal, just like if you went to the gym and worked out super hard and was sore after.

Not much else to report in my household.  Daddy and Mama had to go to a birthing class, and I think my mama is having anxiety about how big my sister is getting.  My sister is kicking so much that my mama is super uncomfortable and has problems walking at times.  I think Mama is ready for my sister to come, but Daddy is hoping she bakes for as long as possible so that he can finish getting things ready.

The best time of year...

Every year, the first weekend of August, my parents go to the Gardena Buddhist Church with my Auntie Miyo for Obon.  Obon is basically a food festival to honor the dead.  There are game booths and bingo for the kids, Taiko (drums), and they block off the streets for dancing...oh, and did I mention food?!  Sushi, Chirashi (sushi rice with yummy stuff in it), Udon (noodles), Chili rice/Hot dogs/tamales, SPAM Musubi (SPAM and rice), Dango, Corn, Shaved Ice, Ice Cream....basically Japanese carnival food.  My mama, daddy and Auntie Miyo normally have to work the Chili Rice booth.  This year my mama was too big and pregnant to work, so they got to just enjoy.

THIS IS DANGO!
WE ALL LOVE DANGO!
Dango is basically a donut hole.  It is super crunchy on the outside.  This is the most popular food booth.  The line goes out of the parking lot and onto the street and it sells out every year!  And MYYYYYY DADDY brought me some home!  Being half Japanese, he knew that I would want some!

I KNOW MAMA HAS ANOTHER ONE IN THAT BAG!  I CAN SMELL IT!

Mama was nice enough to share too.  But, I am hoping that this isn't a sign of what is to come, I had to share with my sister!  But, I am very alert and ready for any crumbs I can get.  Can't wait for next year!  My mama said that next year my sister will be dressed up for dancing!  (even if she can't dance yet)

Things Mama has learned...

First and foremost, I DO NOT LIKE BALLOONS!
Mama tried to do a photoshoot with me yesterday with 6 balloons.  They scare me.  I don't like the way they smell, I don't like the sound they make when they hit eachother, and I especially do not like them attached to my harness!

But, she made up for it by taking me to Auntie Ericka's house.  The handyman came to our house to do some stuff.  Since I am skittish when people are in my house, she let me hang out at Auntie Ericka's.  She wasn't home, which made me sad.  But, she has a yard with lots of grass, which made up for her absence.

Even though I am allergic to 4/5 grasses, and pretty much all of nature, Mama let me play and rub in it.  She said my booty is just too cute to try to get me to stop.

But, second lessoned learned...
Just because I look and act better, I am not.  With all the excitement today, I just did too much.  Which wasn't much at all.  My leg is super swollen, and I am walking with a horrible limp.  So, Daddy has made it VERY clear that I am still on R&R.  But I think everyone will agree that even though I am gimpy, I sure do look happy!

I'm weird sometimes...

I am not sure what happened to me today, but Daddy came home, and I decided to climb on his chest and lick him to death.  Mama had a good laugh while I helped groom him and wash his face.  Daddy said it would be super funny and he would laugh if he didn't have a 60 lb dog on his chest.
Just call me, "LICKAPOTOMUS"

No need for a shower tonight
