Thanksgiving Weekend...

So, this weekend was a long one that Daddy got to stay home for FOUR whole days!  We girls (Me, Mama and Sissy) loved it!
The family went to Uncle Andy and Auntie Laurie's house to eat Thanksgiving dinner.  Mama doesn't like turkey, but she said that this was the BEST turkey she has ever had!  And I got a few scraps of leftovers, and I would have to agree with Mama.  That was one good bird!

This is Auntie Deanna, Cousin Mia, Daddy and Sissy.  Boy does Daddy look tall!  Cousin and Sissy are both watching Tom and Jerry cartoons it made Mia happy and Sissy quiet.

Then, everyone went to go celebrate neighbor, Bradie Lynne's 3rd birthday at the park!

Sissy met Mr. Josh and Ms. Alison.  They used to be our neighbors, then they moved to Texas with my friend Tinkerbell.  Tink didn't come this trip, but I think she will be here for Christmas!  Sissy loved Ms. Alison!  She was all smiles and giggles!

The next day, we went to take family holiday pictures.

Mama used to ride shotgun with me, but now, I ride solo.  Mama sits in the back with Sissy.  Sissy cries if Daddy drives under 40mph, so Mama has to keep her calm.  So, now, it is just me and my Daddy up front!

This is me at the photoshoot.
I'm ready for my close up!

At the end, Sissy was exhausted.

So, was I!
It had been awhile since I have been to a park.  I don't think I have gone since my surgery.  I was worn out from all the smells and fun to be had!

Then, everyone went to Roger's Gardens to see Santa Claus.
Mama loves it there.  It is a nursery, and every Christmas they light all the plants and trees up.
Santa comes for all the kids, and this year Sissy and the cousins went to see him.

Cousin Beckett and Garrison went first.  They were all business.  They told Santa what they wanted, then went to go run around and to see the trains.

Sissy was next.
It was a bit overwhelming, but she got through it.

Even Mama and Daddy got in on it.  I think they asked for a good night's sleep.
Because this whole weekend, Sissy slept throughout the night!  We are all hoping it isn't a 4 night fluke.

So, sissy made it through the visit with Santa, but not quite through the rest of the night.
Secretly, I know that she is crying because today's blog is done with.
See you later!

HOLY SHIITAKE!!!

Auntie Kris got Sissy this shirt, and I thought it was fitting for what has been happening this week!
As you know, my sister turned 2... 2 months that is.  So, here are what the milestones for this month are, so far..

First, she went to the doctor's office to get checked out.  Here are her stats:

Weight: 14 lbs 6 ozs
Length: 24 1/4"
Head circumference: 16"

She is in the 98th percentile in all three categories.  Basically, that means she is one big kid!

The first thing the doctor said when she saw Sissy was, "Look at those eyes!"  She thinks that Sissy's eyes will stay light in color.  She is guessing hazel. Mama is guessing light brown, and Daddy is still holding out for blue.  What do you think?

So, this is me, trying to get some sleep, and taking comfort in a "ba-chan blankie" (a blanket made by a grandmother).  Sissy has been colicky.  Which is another word for, "Super Duper Gassy."  By definition, it means she cries for 3 hours straight, at least 3 times a week.  Which I can tell you, it is more than that.  The doctor thinks that it is, "just gas", but.....

Does this look like a kid that is "just gassy"?!
The reason she is all shiny looking is not because of the flash of the picture.
Sissy sweats when she cries.  She's drenched in minutes.
Do you like that clenched fist?  She looks like she's gonna beat someone up!

In happier news...
Sissy is super close to rolling over!  She is a rolie polie!
She can roll from her tummy to her back, but not her back to her tummy.  She tries super hard, but her arm works as a speed bump and she gets stuck.  (if you look back at the second picture, you will see what I mean by saying her arm gets in the way)  She did this at the doctor's office, and the doctor was super impressed and said it will be any day now.  She also said that rolling over like this is a 4-5 month old milestone!  We all knew that my sister was advanced, but it is nice to have a professional confirm it.

The doctor (who is super nice and we love) also said that she does a lot of 4-5 month things.  Like how she locks her legs, holds her head, and can almost sit up by herself.

The only thing Mama needs to work on, is getting Sister on a schedule.  We would all appreciate that.  I would, that is for sure.  But, it is harder than Mama thought it would be.

Sissy has also found her fists, and is starting to put them in her mouth to self soothe.  Which makes a lot of drool, but less crying.

Now, you won't believe this one...
But Mama swears that Sissy can say, "Hi" and "Mama" (this is her waiving, kind of).  Not on cue, but she can.  The only problem is she only cries, "MAAAAAA MAAAAAA!"  when she is upset, and Mama doesn't like that, it makes her sad.  When she says, "hi", she says it really fast, and repetitively, like, "hi hi hi".  Daddy has heard it too.
Again, not typical of a 2 month old.  And Grandma said if she started talking by 3 months, she would send her to Yale so she can be a bulldog like me!
So, if you are reading this Grandma, I have super duper dog hearing, and I can tell you, Sissy can talk!
(kind of)

Other than that, I am just here on my bed, keeping my eyes and ears open for you guys, so I can report on my blog what my family is up to.
Mama thinks I look like a walrus or seal in this picture, but I am just keeping myself warm, all tucked in.  It has been raining a bit, and cold at night.  So, stay warm everyone!

2 MONTHS TODAY!

This is the face of a pup that has been a big sister for two whole months.
Two very long months.
But, I love my sister and wouldn't send her back...wait.  Can I send her back?
No, I kid.  One good thing out of this is that I get a lot more chicken.  Mama feels guilty about spending less time with me, so I get chicken all the time.  And if I am patient, Daddy tells me that as Sissy gets older, she will drop lots of Cheerios for me.  So, now, I just need to wait until that day.  Then she will become a neverending source of treats!

This past week has been pretty lazy.  It has been colder, so we have been staying in more.  Sissy has to wear socks more, and Mama is obsessed with Babylegs, and makes her wear them all the time.
Thank goodness I have a fur coat, otherwise, Mama might make me wear leg warmers too!

Oh, remember how I said that Daddy would never put Sissy to work?  Well, I was wrong.  Since he heads the marketing stuff at work, he decided to use her to peddle his product.  This isn't the picture he used, but she looks happy, not like child labor.

Daddy went on a work trip for a couple days this week.  We kids were so happy to see him when he came home!  (Notice, Mama put another pair of Babylegs on Sissy...Poor thing)

At two months, Sissy (with Daddy's help) is learning the right spots to scratch and pet.  She has some work to do, but she's getting there.

This is my cousin, Brunswick.  He was rescued from the same breeder I was, and he lives in Texas.  That is where I was born.  Doesn't Texas look like fun?!  Lots of grass and balls to play with!  When Sissy was born, he and his family bought Sissy a present that she started using this week.

It's a tummy time mat.  She already does tummy time in her crib, but Mama decided to up her exercise routine and break out the mat.  So, now she not only does tummy time on her bed, she does it on MINE too!  Mama put this mat on my bed!  GRRRRRR!  I am not happy about that.  Luckily, it is only for a couple minutes a day.  Sissy doesn't like her push ups.

Other than that, we have just been hanging out with our friends.
(She's just looking at her "dancing bulldogs" mobile)
Sissy doesn't have her 2 month appointment until Monday, so I will update you on her stats then.
Have a great week!  Stay warm!

Lots happened, this is a long one...

Let's start off with the obvious, Halloween.  Well, Sissy couldn't wear her costume.  Daddy said that it was too cumbersome to carry around a huge sushi handroll.

So, instead Sister wore an outfit that came in a care package that Grandma and Grandpa sent.  Don't let this picture fool you.  She barked a lot because she was not happy with the headband.  She is not fond of things on her head.

I stayed home and watched the house to make sure no one "tricked" our place.

So, the rest of the family went to the cousins' house to trick or treat.  Cousin Garrison was Super Grover, and Cousin Beckett was Super Why.  Auntie Candice made their costumes, because she is a super mom!

Grandpa and Grandma also sent a shirt for Sister.  It says, "Little Sis".  Some might think this is just to inform people that she is not the first born in our family, and I am the first child.  But, I see it as a status informant.  It is to put her in her place so that she knows she is below me on the totum pole.

I am getting wiped out!  This is a lot to talk to about.  I have to remember it all.

Sister went to Daddy's office.  Everyone thought she was cute.  And at 7 weeks old, she is already ready to take over the place.
Mama thinks her face is saying, "Please Daddy, don't make me into child labor!"
As if.  If it were up to Daddy, his little girl would never lift a finger for the rest of her life.

Of course, he isn't opposed to putting me to work.
It is now officially my job to tell Daddy if Sister has a dirty diaper.
You've heard of drug sniffing dogs, right?  Well, I sniff out poop.

This week, Sister also started to smile and make happy noises on a more regular basis.  Her mad/sad barks still out number her happy sounds, but Mama is so excited to hear them!

THE BEST FOR LAST!
CONGRATULATIONS TO GREAT GRANDPA!
He received the Congressional Metal of Honor, which is our nation's highest honors.

The whole family dressed up and went to Aloha Night.
My sister wore a super fluffy dress that Grandma bought her in Atlanta.

Cousin Mia was there in her best too!

They are still pretty much the same size.  And we still can't get a picture of the two of them smiling together.  Look at the double chins on those two!  And people think I have a lot of wrinkles and rolls!

Everything was super official.  And the program was actually very nice, with Grammy award winning songwriters and singers, to documentaries produced by David Ono and food by Roy Yamaguchi.
Mama tattled, and told me that Sister cried everytime the room was silent.  Like here, at the presentation of the colors.  How embarrassing!

Again, CONGRATULATIONS GRANDPA!  WE LOVE YOU!
(To bad they don't allow dogs at the Beverly Hilton, I would have made this picture much better)

PHEW!  That is all for now.  I am beat!  I will try to blog more often so not to wear myself out like this!  I hope you all had a great week!
