One week down....

I am not going to lie, being a big sister is exhausting!  Mama and Daddy are holding up well, but a bully needs her beauty sleep!

Sister Emmie went to her first doctor's appointment on Tuesday.  The doctor said she lost a bit of weight because Mama's milk hadn't come in yet, but other than that she is "PERFECT!"  That was the pediatrician's words, not ours.  So, even professionals think she is PERFECT.

The only thing Mama and Daddy disagree with the doctor about was Sister's development.  The doctor said Emmie still has immature eye sight, neurological and motor skills.  Daddy says that we are a bit biased, and everyone thinks their baby is the best, but we have a SUPER BABY!

The doctor said Sister can only see blurs about 6" from her face, but we know she can see circles and stripes on the ceiling and walls!  And look at her!  Today is her one week birthday, and SHE CAN HOLD HER OWN BOTTLE!  Now, tell us that she doesn't deserve her own comic book!
IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE,
IT'S SUUUUUPER BAAAAABY!

Sister even amuses herself.  She hangs out in her flower shaped Boppy pillow (Thank you Caitlyn Brausa) all the time, and just stretches, hangs out, and squeaks.

I just hang out with my Daddy most the time.  We cuddle, and relax all the time.  I am going to be sad when he goes back to work.

Other than that, we are doing well.  I am slowly learning to share my life with her.  It's hard, but no matter what, I love her, there is no bond like the bond of sisters.

AND THE EMMY GOES TO....(long entry)

THE CORWIN FAMILY!
(Well, kind of)

Introducing my little sister.
Emmie Kiyoko Corwin
Born Thursday, September 15th 2011 9:17pm
9 pounds even, 21 inches long even

Maybe I should rewind and explain when this all happened...

This is my mama with my sister still in her belly.  Her legs look broken because she was having a contraction and was writhing in pain at the time.  She told Daddy no pictures, but you can see how well he listened.  Mama called my daddy and told him that she thought he should come home from work, and before she knew it, he was home!  He sped down the freeway to the hospital and Mama was checked in at around 1:00pm, where she was 2cm dilated.  When checked again at 4:00pm she was 4.5cm dilated and they gave her some drugs and broke her water.  At 8:35pm, nurses made her push about 4 or so times, and then the doctor came in, she pushed again, and out came my sister at 9:17pm!  (There are some really gross pictures that Mama said we can't show)

Here she is, but at this point she didn't have a name.  Daddy didn't give her a name until the next day.  So, she was just "Baby Girl" for awhile.

This is Emmie on her ride home.

Daddy let me see her, I wasn't sure about her at first.  She was really loud and made a funny bark that I have never heard before!  It made me nervous.  But, I am slowly getting used to it.

My life has changed A LOT.
But it's OK.  I am a pretty good big sister if I do say so myself.

All because of this funny looking puppy that Mama brought home, my house has turned upside down.
Daddy is home for about a week while Mama recovers.  She is a bit damaged from squeezing a 9lb watermelon out of her.  Good thing she has me and Daddy to take care of her.
I'll keep you updated on the craziness that is my house!

Quick little sister update... (no pics)

So, my sister had to go to the doctor's AGAIN yesterday.
She got her picture taken, but you can't see her much.
She's in launch position and ready to shoot out!
But she's huge! 8 lbs 12 ozs!
The doctor says anyway now.
But Mama says that she doesn't think my sister is coming anytime soon. We'll see!

Kind of a slow week, sorry...

This past weekend we had cotton candy for days! (Thank you Tasty Clouds) And my sister got lots and lots and lots of clothes, toys, books and other stuff that takes space up in MY room!

But, my mama and Tia Ericka got me a big ole' snake to play with.  Within minutes, I ate its face and pulled off its eyes, but I loved it!

And Grandma got me toys too!  Normally, I am not a big fan of rubber toys, but to Mama's surprise, I loved them.  This is me randomly cuddling with them!  It's good to be the first born, everyone feels bad and doesn't want me to feel left out now that my sister will be coming soon.

For the most part, I stick by Daddy.  Mama has no room on her lap for me (my sister takes it all!), and I know that Daddy will never abandon me.

My sister had to go to the doctor's today.  But, Mama stepped into the building, and the power went out in Southern California, Mexico, and Arizona!  So, Mama and Sister hoofed it up 5 flights of stairs to the doctor's office.  She hoped the stairs would help make my sister come, but no luck.  No ultrasound, because there was no power, so we don't know how big she has gotten.  But, Mama is still not dilated AT ALL, so it will be awhile before we meet my sister.
