THE PARTY!

Yes folks, that is right, this post is all about the party.
My sister turned 1.
I don't see the big deal.
But, I think my Daddy and Mama are just glad they survived the first year without any major injury or accident.  I think that is what the celebration was really about.

So, here it is.
The party.
See this banner?
My mama has the Diegmuller sisters to thank for it.
You see, yes, Mama made the banner, but guess who was forced to fluff all these pompoms?
Auntie Tia (Ericka) couldn't make it to the party, so she was being punished.  And Auntie Tia delegated the task to Tia Gaby.

THERE WAS FOOD!
OH YES THERE WAS FOOD!
In addition to the "Taco Man" who gave us yummy carne asada, chicken, carnitas, beans and rice...
we had sweets galore!

Trees of owl suckers,

and NutterButter Owls!

"Branches"
(pretzels with mint choc. or white choc)

rice krispy treats
(pink with grey sprinkles of course)

gummy worms, tootsie pops, more "branches"...

owl cupcakes,

and of course...
THE CAKE!
Thank you for Auntie Kris for helping Mama decorate it.
(It helped her from having a nervous breakdown)

and Sissy's cake that was especially for her!

There was a baby food table.

ceviche, chips and salsa/guac, and veggies.

and drinks with my sister's face on them!
(a big thank you to Brennen's mama, Kim, for helping with that!)

and the favors!

Mama made stuffed owls for the babies.
They had bubbles, stickers, pencils, noise makers, stamps, and beach balls in the wings and tummies.

The big kids got pencil boxes, with pretty much the same stuff, plus some other big kid things like cars and erasers.

And owl cookies for the adults!

There weren't a lot of decorations, really just 2 banners.
But they were fun.

and of course...
THE BIRTHDAY GIRL!
This was her eating birthday breakfast of sweet potato, banana, chicken, formula, and pretzel

and here she is at the party!

She got to play with a lot of her friends...

Sissy w/Avery

Sissy w/Rory

Sissy w/ the great grandpas!

She even showed off her clapping skills with Ji-chan.

Then...
The moment my sister waited for the whole day.

THE CAKE SMASH!
She was very careful to begin with.

Then, she dove in!

and it got messier,

and messier,

and messier,
(she had to take a break to wet her whistle)

And finally, she was done.
Or was she?
"Mama, where are you going with that?!"

"Seriously...That's MINE!"

"Stand back everyone!  I have got a handle on this!"

"Now, let me see, what's under here?  I have to make sure I leave no stone unturned."

"I think I am satisfied.
What else ya got for me?!"

Then Daddy and Mama took her outside to shower her down.

And she had to change her clothes into an owl dress that Grandma and Grandpa got her.

Then it was back to playing!

Sissy playing nicely with best pal Brennen.

Lots of fun with friends!
(This was taken next to Sissy's card tree!  Everyone pinned owls to her tree!  So much fun!)

Sissy said she had a hoot of a time!
and Mama says thank you to everyone that helped her!

Now, on a more serious note..

Sorry, this is what you get for now...

So, Mama's camera is broken and out to get fixed.
So, I didn't have a post this week.
But, I thought I would let you know what is going on.
A whole lot of nothing.
My sister has been sick.
2 weeks of diarrhea.
Looking at her, you'd never know she was sick.  She is in good spirits.
She laughs, she plays, all the things an 11 month old should be doing.
But, she has soupy poopies and a raging diaper rash.
Last night, she got a fever, and went to the baby emergency room.
She's fine.  She is having some labwork done on her poop and the doctors won't know anything until the results are in.  But, don't worry.  She is fine.
And I will update you next week with how she is doing.
(PS at the doctor's office, she weighed in at 23 lbs)

Chances are, we won't have our camera back until Sissy's birthday.  So, hang in there.  I'll be back in a little while.

Happy Sunday to you all!

So, I bet you are wondering why I am sitting here all alone.
Staring at toys that aren't mine,
and I am watching TV all by my lonesome.
Mama was busy cutting some crafty stuff.
And Daddy was busy with..

WHAT IS IN BOX NUMBER 1!
So, here is the story.
Daddy took me out to go potty.
I walked outside, and Daddy noticed something wriggle pass our door!
It was a snake!
So, since Daddy watched lots of Animal Planet and NatGeo and decided he could catch it!
He didn't want it coming into the house, or scaring Mama when going outside.
Long story short...
2 hours later...
HE CAUGHT IT!
He caught it with his bare hands, put it in a pillowcase, then in the cardboard box.  Then decided to take it across the street and set him free on the hill.

To do that, he needed a box with a lid.

So, off they went.
He was about 3-4 feet long.
And we looked it up, he ended up a California King Snake.

Daddy said there was a little field mouse right where he let the snake go.
I hope you enjoy your new home!
Don't come back please!

Phew!
That was a lot of work, I am tuckered out!

Now to the regular check in post...

Sissy went for a playdate at her friend Zach's.

Sissy loves everything Sophie! (Giraffe)

Who knows what she and Brennen were doing here, but it looks like they are up to no good.  And it looks like my sister is the leader.  Great.

There were a lot of boys there.
Sissy decided to separate her from the herd and hung out in the pack n play.
Daddy was glad to see her staying away from the boys, but said she looked like she was in some kind of penalty box.

I think she was trying to escape.

Everyone was supposed to bring a toy.  So, Mama brought her tent and tunnel.
It took some coaching, but friend Brennen got her through the tunnel.

Sissy also went to Full Spectrum Photography's open house.
It is owned by her friend Daniel's parents.
They had balloons.

And sweets..
(she's saying, "give me that cookie!")

She also got a tour of the new studio.

This blurry picture is exactly why my mama isn't a professional.

I think she is planning to take the place over.

All work and no play makes Sissy a boring girl.
So, they went shopping at Neiman's!
It's always fun to play there!
We have an activity box like this, but for some reason, she likes toys that aren't hers.

There were lots of animals to play with.
This panda is huge!

So is this Sophie!

and of course, her favorite...the piano.

Now that my leg is better, the house is getting back to normal.
So, I am taking my rightful place in my normal spot on the couch.

Stay cool and relax!  See you next week!
